Ellipsus

Ellipsus is a free writing app for Android built for novelists, short story writers, and anyone who loves putting words on the page. It gives you a calm, distraction-free editor where you can start a new draft in seconds and keep every document, folder, and idea organized in one place.

What makes Ellipsus different is how it handles working with other people. You can invite co-authors, beta readers, and editors into a document and write together in real time, leave comments, and control exactly who can view or edit each piece. Every change is tracked, and version history lets you try out a new direction in a separate draft without touching your main manuscript, so experimenting never risks your best work.

Ellipsus works offline too. Write on the train, in a cafe, or anywhere without a connection, and your words sync when you are back online. You can import existing work from Word (.docx) or Markdown files, export finished pieces to PDF, set writing sprints and timers to hit your daily word goals, and publish a piece with a Reader link so others can read and react.

Privacy is at the heart of the app. Ellipsus contains no generative AI and does not track your writing, so your words stay yours. The core app is completely free, with no limits on documents, drafts, or collaborators. An optional Ellipsus Plus subscription adds extra perks, but it is never required to write.

If you are looking for a focused, private, and genuinely collaborative place to write your next story, Ellipsus is well worth downloading.
